Welcome young Russian scholars to exchange and guidance in the Distillation Center of Tianjin University
On March 6, 2016, young scholars Oleg Volodin, Alexey Sakhnov, Konstantin I. Stepanov and Igor Kozulin of the Institute of Thermal Physics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences who were supported by the National International Science and Technology Cooperation Special Fund of "Joint Development of Multi-Energy Efficiency Utilization and Energy Saving in Chemical Systems", arrived at the School of Chemical Engineering and Technology of Tianjin University to conduct a three-month academic exchange and technical guidance with researchers and graduate students of the Distillation Center. They cooperated with the Distillation Center to carry out research in heat transfer, mass transfer, distributor testing, low temperature heat utilization, microchannel research, etc., and achieved the phased objectives.
On May 26, 2016, the Distillation Center held a seminar with Russian young scholars. In the lecture, young scholars first conducted the main research report of the Institute of Thermal Physics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences titled "COP evaluation of lithium bromide absorption heat transformers with two-stage absorption", "Influence of the mesh coating characteristics on heat transfer in gravity-driven film flow", followed by" Design and construction of the experimental setup for investigation of heat transfer in microchannels with different cross sections" and "Measurement of liquid level in troughs and unevenness of liquid distribution", "Experimental investigation of two-phase gas-liquid flow in rectangular mini- and microchannels". During the lecture, the teachers and students of the Distillation Center thanked the four scholars for their visit and guidance, and conducted in-depth discussions with scholars on academic issues in the field of distillation.
The visit of the four young scholars strengthened the understanding of the scientific research direction and content of both parties, effectively promoted the development of the two parties in the field of rectification, and laid a foundation for establishment of more in-depth cooperative research with each other in the future.
